Committee: Redevelopment / Land Use Law

Redevelopment and Land Use Law Committee

The practice of redevelopment law draws from a broad base of knowledge, and cooperation between attorneys in a variety of practice areas, such as environmental law, land use law, municipal law, tax law, and land use law. As Essex County continues to attract new residents, it is imperative that practitioners who practice in these, among other fields, familiarize themselves with the Local Redevelopment and Housing Law, and meet other practitioners whose expertise and skill complement their own.

Land use practitioners also face a unique set of issues and circumstances in dealing with Planning and Zoning Boards that do not fit squarely within the bounds of real estate or municipal practice. These practitioners would also benefit from knowledge of redevelopment law, which can impact land use practice, as well as interaction with environmental and municipal attorneys.

The Redevelopment/Land Use Committee of the Essex County Bar Association provides the opportunity for practitioners in these practice areas to meet, network and exchange ideas for the further redevelopment of this vital New Jersey County. The Essex County Bar Association provides a unique opportunity to assist its members in forging new alliances and strengthening existing skills as the trend to redevelop and revitalize New Jersey’s cities and towns accelerates.
